Years ago, a guy was standing in my lobby. He’s an ex-biker, a single dad, his wife left him, his hair is really long, it’s greasy. He’s leaning against the wall and says, “I’m depressed. I’m out of work. I can’t handle life. I’m nearly going to commit suicide.” And I said, “Hey, do you need a job?” and I hire the guy. If he’d had a resume that said all that stuff, I would shred it as fast as I could and run from it.
