MAWN: You are a visionary, so what is your opinion of the value of the martial arts and what do you see as our future? SHL: It is very challenging to try and put the value of martial arts into a single word because the very practice that is done with energy, commitment, and integrity leads down many paths. But, I think that at the heart of our art is RESPECT. No one can love or respect another person unless they have learned to love and respect themselves.
