MAWN: You were like the proverbial rock in a hard place. What were the lessons you learned and how did the martial arts come into play in your circumstances? WJ: I want to make it clear that I don’t blame anyone else for the choices I made. I take full responsibility for my actions. No one in my family chose to sell drugs and hustle, but I made the decision to do whatever it took to ensure that my mom would never be treated like a piece of trash again. It just so happened that martial arts was a part of my life at the same time in my journey.
