Master Clay Pierson of Statesboro Karate in Statesboro, GA gives the inside scoop on how he trains more than 500 students a week. MAWN: What year did you begin teaching and open a school? CP: I began teaching in 1996 after I earned my black belt with the American Tang Soo Do Alliance. By 1998 we’d opened our school in Brooklet and Savannah. MAWN: What markets do you teach to? CP: We teach kids three and a half and up. Eighty percent of our audience is kids. We also teach adults. We teach serious or advanced martial arts, so we teach all ages and don’t discriminate.
