MAWN: That’s powerful. We’re seeing more programs for teachers now, especially at the elementary and high school levels, teaching things like barricading classrooms and lockdown procedures to reduce risks during active situations. You’ve also talked about supporting churches and community groups. From your experience, what approaches actually work best in those environments? TP: What I’m seeing now, something I haven’t seen in years, is that churches are calling and asking, “Can you help us train a response team?” These teams are usually made up of members with martial arts, military, or security backgrounds.
