MAWN: USAT, which is the national governing body for Taekwondo for the US Olympic Committee, has had a dramatic decline in membership over the past few years, and in the last world championships we won no gold medals. What, in your opinion, is the reason for this drastic decline and, if you were in charge, what would you do to make the organization three times bigger? US Olympic Committee President Bill Hybl, International Olympic Committee President Juan Antonio Samaranch, and Grandmaster Sang Lee. SL: During my presidency of the USTU, our peak membership was 45,000 registered members and 3,000 clubs. Today, there are approximately 13,000 registered members and 700 clubs.
