Developing a bench of highly trained assistant instructors is a process that can start as early as a novice student. If you wait until they achieve their black belt before you start teaching them how to help you teach, then due to the drop out rate, you automatically have a much smaller pool of potential instructors. There should be a cultural understanding in your school that there is a protocol of moving up in leadership roles from beginner to black belt club or leadership program to CIT program and eventually their goal is to become a certified Instructor.  Nominate students based on their personality and willingness to set the example
