The U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang was created in 2009 by Grandmaster Sang Chul Lee to provide an opportunity for students of all ages and ranks to compete at an international level. The individual competitions cover sparring, forms, kicking techniques, creative breaking, and weapons. There will be team demonstration competitions including, creative, traditional, and pairs. Special classes will be taught by Taekwondo olympians and national champions giving their training and competitive strategies for success. The weekend concludes with a Hanmadang Gala Dinner as a finale. This year’s 12th annual U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang will take place July 28th and 29th, 2023 at Ed Robson Arena in downtown Colorado Springs, CO – Olympic City
